Smelling and Tasting Goodness

Trying to get back to writing some blogs so today I wanted to talk about a light topic but also an amazing thing to think about. God gave us senses to enjoy food.

Have you ever thought about that? He created the ability to taste and smell food. He could have created a small pill to take once a day to meet our needs or maybe even created us where we didn’t even need food to eat at all. But… He created us to enjoy food. Do you enjoy the smell of coffee? Bacon? Cookies baking? Do you enjoy the taste of foods? I know I sure do. Take a moment and thank your creator for that!

Now, that you realize how cool that is haha. Think about your taste buds. Not only did He create you with the ability to taste. He gave you a variety of taste buds. You can enjoy a plate of nachos with peppers and then be able to enjoy a sweet and creamy ice cream later. Why do you think you don’t like accidentally drinking ocean water on vacation? It’s so salty. Thank you God.

31 ¶ Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31

So how does this play into nutrition? We were made to ENJOY food. It’s okay to ENJOY foods. Why would we be created with taste buds and a nose if it wasn’t so? On the other side of this, He also created our bodies to move and release endorphins after exercise to feel good and keep doing it. We will talk more about this in the next blog.

I don’t know God’s reasoning for everything. I’m not claiming to. But sometimes I just sit and think about these things in awe. I am happy I get to smell coffee beans and taste everything I get to taste. Are you?

Thank Him today. And I hope you know more than His common Grace. The fact He sent His son Jesus to die for our sins. So we can stand righteous in front of Him someday and enjoy eternity with Him.

23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,

25 whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed,

26 to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus

Romans 3:23-26
